STUDENTS

The Ohio Dairy Veterinarians are committed to helping veterinary students in any way they can. This comes through a combination of efforts at their annual meeting, support of different events throughout the year, and providing opportunities for students to experience rural practice firsthand.

Veterinary students are welcome and encouraged to attend the annual meeting. There is no charge for students to attend. At the meeting, there are several events that are designed with the students in mind. There is a social time provided to allow students and practitioners to interact. There are student presentations about practices they have visited.

We support the Food Animal Club at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine with speakers and financial support for various events.

Ride-Along Information

Many veterinarians are more than happy to have students ride with them.  Veterinary students are encouraged to contact the person they are interested in riding with directly to explore opportunities to do that.  There are currently many opportunities for veterinary students to ride with a dairy practitioner for a wide range of experiences. These opportunities exist in Ohio and surrounding states.
